Google Analytics:

Google Analytics can augment your segmentation process. Once segmented, you have a filtering rule that can be passed to Smartlook. Any qualifying Smartlook recordings are shown when the user presses the play button in Google Analytics.

Google Analytics has a typical workflow where an analyst wants to determine the traffic volume difference coming from various referral channels.

But GA doesn’t tell you very much about the user’s behavior once users arrive on your landing page.

With Smartlook, you can filter the users within your Google Analytics console to determine which users are part of a specific channel’s referral traffic and then watch each user’s recordings as they come to your site.

Once you’re in Smartlook with the GA-generated segment, you can perform further analysis on the group by creating a heat map based on the segment.
